This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Tokyo Haneda Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 5 May '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day by the Forecast for the Tokyo Haneda Airport Station once information is finalized, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/jp/tokyo/RJTT. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve to "Yes" until all data for this date has been finalized. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is finalized for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Trader consensus overwhelmingly favors 22°C as Tokyo's highest temperature on May 5, mirroring the Japan Meteorological Agency's (JMA) seasonal normal maximum of 22.8°C and latest forecast models indicating mostly cloudy conditions with limited solar insolation for substantial afternoon heating. Observations through midday show peaks near 21°C amid a stable cool air mass and light winds, aligning with historical early-May patterns where overcast skies cap highs below 23°C about 70% of the time. This skin-in-the-game positioning reflects low uncertainty, as remaining daylight offers scant opportunity for 1°C+ surges. Realistic challenges include sudden clearing boosting shortwave radiation or urban heat island amplification at JMA's Tokyo station, potentially nudging readings to 23°C—though such shifts are rare without stronger ridging aloft. Final resolution awaits JMA's evening data release.
