Exit polls released on April 29-30 overwhelmingly project a landslide victory for the incumbent BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Assam Legislative Assembly election, forecasting 83-102 seats out of 126 for NDA versus 23-36 for the Congress-led Asom Sonmilito Morcha (ASM), reflecting trader consensus on BJP forming the next government under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. High voter turnout of 85.38% on April 9, combined with pre-poll surveys showing NDA leads of 3-12% in vote share and BJP's strong incumbency since 2016—bolstered by development initiatives and a fragmented opposition—have solidified this commanding position ahead of results on May 4. Rare discrepancies in counting, legal challenges, or unexpected regional upsets could challenge the outcome, though historical exit poll accuracy in Assam supports the pricing.
