Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovenia on March 22, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially elected by the National Assembly (Državni zbor) and sworn in as Prime Minister of Slovenia following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Slovenia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Following Slovenia's March 2026 parliamentary elections, outgoing Prime Minister Robert Golob's Freedom Movement conceded on April 20 its inability to secure a 46-seat absolute majority in the 90-seat National Assembly, shifting coalition negotiations to Janez Janša's Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), which secured 28 seats as runner-up. Traders reflect this in Janša's dominant 91% implied probability, driven by his re-election as SDS leader, reported backing from Zoran Stevanović's Resnica party—which supported a center-right parliamentary speaker—and overtures to other right-leaning groups amid Golob's pivot to opposition. President Nataša Pirc Musar tasked lawmakers with nominating a viable PM candidate by late April, with a floor vote imminent; failure could trigger a relative majority attempt or snap election, though Janša's momentum favors success barring holdouts or defections.
