The razor-thin margin in Peru’s June 7 runoff between Keiko Fujimori and Roberto Sánchez has extended the official count, with ONPE still processing rural and overseas ballots plus roughly 1,500 contested tally sheets routed to special electoral juries for review. JNE officials have publicly projected final proclamation by mid-July after resolving challenges, consistent with Peru’s recent close elections that routinely require several weeks for full certification and any recounts. No systemic fraud claims have advanced past initial scrutiny, and international observers reported a calm voting day, but party representatives continue monitoring disputed sheets. The scheduled July 28 inauguration sets an outer bound, while any successful appeals could shift the JNE timeline. Traders price the highest probability on certification by July 15–27, reflecting these procedural realities rather than political disruption.
