Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovenia on March 22, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially elected by the National Assembly (Državni zbor) and sworn in as Prime Minister of Slovenia following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Slovenia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Following Slovenia's March 22 parliamentary elections, where Robert Golob's Freedom Movement secured 29 seats to Janez Janša's Slovenian Democratic Party's 28 in the 90-seat National Assembly, Golob conceded on April 20 his inability to form a coalition government despite holding an absolute majority mandate of 46 votes. President Nataša Pirc Musar subsequently urged lawmakers on April 25 to nominate a viable candidate, paving the way for Janša, whose SDS-led bloc demonstrated commanding parliamentary support on April 29 by passing a Government Act reducing ministries from 19 to 14 with 49 favorable votes. This skin-in-the-game trader consensus at 91% reflects Janša's advanced coalition negotiations; realistic challenges include deadlock prompting a relative majority vote, holds by smaller parties like NSi or Resni.ca, or snap elections if no government forms within procedural deadlines.
