Paul St-Pierre Plamondon of the Parti Québécois leads trader consensus at 58 percent for next Premier ahead of the October 5, 2026, general election, reflecting his party’s consistent first-place standing in recent polls at roughly 30 percent amid strong francophone support. Charles Milliard of the Quebec Liberal Party follows at 24.5 percent as the new leader since February, positioning his party in a tight second in voting intentions near 28 percent. Christine Fréchette of the Coalition Avenir Québec, the current Premier after winning her party’s April leadership contest over Bernard Drainville, sits at 12.7 percent; the CAQ has risen to about 22 percent in polls following the leadership change and tonal shift, though it trails in the three-way contest. Lower-probability outcomes for Ruba Ghazal, Éric Duhaime, and Sol Zanetti align with their parties’ weaker polling and limited seat projections. Recent Léger and other surveys highlight the fluid race, with no decisive late shifts reported.
