This market will resolve according to the winner of the Democratic Primary for Governor of Vermont, scheduled to take place on August 11, 2026. Resolution will be based on the overall winner of the primary, including any potential second round or run-off. If no 2026 Vermont Gubernatorial Democratic Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the Vermont Democratic Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Trader consensus reflects a fragmented Vermont Democratic gubernatorial primary field ahead of the May 28 filing deadline and August 11 primary, with Attorney General Charity Clark's 11% implied probability leading due to her high name recognition from recent high-profile lawsuits on gender-affirming care and mail restrictions, alongside a prior poll showing her tied with Treasurer Mike Pieciak as preferred challenger to popular incumbent Republican Gov. Phil Scott. Pieciak trails at 8.5% on his fiscal management record during COVID-19, while Esther Charlestin's 2.5% lags as she pursues the lieutenant governor nomination after winning the 2024 primary. Recent entries by Amanda Janoo and Aly Richards have not consolidated support, leaving the race fluid; endorsements, fundraising, and late statewide officeholder declarations could tip momentum among key voting blocs like progressives and moderates.
