Eurozone annual HICP inflation for 2026 shows trader consensus leaning toward elevated levels, with 47% implied probability on 3.1%+ and 36.5% on 2.8-3.0%, driven by April's flash estimate surging to 3.0%—up from 2.6% in March—amid spiking energy prices and oil volatility. Core inflation eased slightly to 2.2%, signaling stickier services pressures, while meager 0.1% Q1 GDP growth tempers disinflation bets. ECB's March staff projections peg 2026 average at 2.6%, revised higher on energy persistence, yet consumer surveys reveal one-year-ahead expectations jumping to 4.0%. Upcoming May HICP flash (late May) and June ECB meeting could shift odds if energy trends stabilize or wage data surprises.
