This market will resolve according to the winner of the Republican Primary for Governor of South Carolina, scheduled to take place on June 9, 2026. Resolution will be based on the overall winner of the primary, including any potential second round or run-off. If no 2026 South Carolina Gubernatorial Republican Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the South Carolina Republican Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Recent South Carolina Republican gubernatorial primary polls, including the SCGOP's post-debate straw poll showing Attorney General Alan Wilson at 35% and a Starboard Communications survey with him at 20%, have boosted trader consensus favoring Wilson at 38%, reflecting his strong fundraising over $1 million and executive experience. Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette trails closely at 28.5% amid similar fundraising success but faces headwinds from a recent controversy over a canceled South Carolina State University commencement speech. Congresswoman Nancy Mace's support has softened to 22.5% post-debate, where she participated alongside Wilson, Rep. Ralph Norman, and Sen. Josh Kimbrell, amid high undecided voters exceeding 25% in surveys. With early voting approaching ahead of the June 9 primary, further debates, endorsements, or shifts in low-propensity turnout could widen leads in this crowded, competitive field.
