Recent royal decrees extended the parliamentary term until December 2026 amid regional instability, while he ordered measures addressing war repercussions—including Iranian missile attacks—and reviewing citizenship for Iran sympathizers. Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, also prime minister, handles key duties like defense coordination, positioning him as natural successor in the Al Khalifa dynasty. Trader consensus reflects stability, though economic strains and Shia-Sunni tensions could pose long-term risks; no imminent events signal leadership change.
