This market will resolve to "Yes" if the UAE officially announces or formally communicates its decision to withdraw from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM Gulf Standard Time. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". An official announcement or formal communication refers to a statement by the United Arab Emirates government or an entity officially authorized to make such a decision that clearly indicates its decision to withdraw from the Gulf Cooperation Council, including but not limited to a notice of denunciation or equivalent official statement, regardless of when the withdrawal is set to take effect. Informal announcements, statements from unnamed sources, or leaks will not qualify. The primary resolution source will be official information from the UAE government and the GCC; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**UAE officials have explicitly ruled out withdrawal from the Gulf Cooperation Council despite the April 2026 exit from OPEC and OPEC+.** Following that decision—announced without prior coordination with Riyadh and effective May 1—speculation arose about possible departures from other bodies, including the GCC, amid longstanding disputes over oil policy, regional influence, and the bloc’s response to Iranian attacks. UAE statements quickly clarified that the country was reassessing its multilateral roles but had no plans for additional exits. The UAE has continued active participation in GCC mechanisms, including emergency summits in Jeddah on security coordination and subsequent ministerial meetings addressing Iran-related issues and economic integration. Official GCC communiqués through mid-2026 list the UAE among the six members without any indication of impending departure. No formal notices, legislative steps, or leadership statements have signaled intent to leave by year-end. Traders assign the 90% probability to “No” because the explicit official denials, sustained institutional engagement, and absence of concrete withdrawal triggers outweigh episodic bilateral tensions with Saudi Arabia. Resolution would require an unambiguous UAE announcement or formal process that has not materialized.
