Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects a 91.5% implied probability against Costco raising its iconic $1.50 hot dog combo price before 2027, anchored by repeated executive pledges amid sustained food cost inflation. CEO Ron Vachris stated in March 2026 that the price "will not change as long as I'm around," reinforcing co-founder Jim Sinegal's longstanding commitment and prior CFO affirmations, while the combo operates as a loss-leader subsidized by $5 billion+ in annual membership revenue. A minor April 29 menu update added a bottled water option without price adjustment, signaling continuity. Realistic challenges include sharp beef or supply chain disruptions or post-CEO leadership shifts beyond the resolution horizon, though Costco's scale buffers such risks.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the price of a standard Costco hot dog and 20 oz soda combo before tax exceeds $1.50 in any Costco store in the United States by December 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No".
If Costco announces they will increase the price, this market will resolve to "Yes" regardless of whether that change is actually implemented.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Costco, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
