Kylian Mbappé holds the narrowest lead among goal contribution contenders at the 2026 World Cup because France’s attacking depth and his proven tournament pedigree position him for extended minutes across knockout stages. Harry Kane follows closely on the strength of England’s balanced squad and his recent Bundesliga output combining goals and assists, while Lautaro Martínez benefits from Argentina’s title-defense momentum. Lamine Yamal’s recovery timeline from a hamstring injury adds uncertainty but keeps Spain’s options live. The tight spread among the top five reflects comparable paths for these forwards from high-potential national teams, with trader consensus pricing in variables such as squad rotation, defensive matchups, and schedule congestion that could shift contributions rapidly once group play begins.
