Meetings conducted indirectly, for example, through designated mediators, facilitators, or interlocutors acting with the knowledge and authorization of the relevant governments, will qualify. Remote meetings, phone calls, or other meetings where the relevant parties are not present will not count. The resolution sources for this market will be official information from the governments of the Israel and Lebanon, and a consensus of credible reporting.US-brokered trilateral talks between Israel and Lebanon have advanced steadily through 2026, with high-level ambassadorial meetings in Washington on April 14, May 14-15, and June 2-3 producing a conditional ceasefire framework tied to Hezbollah disarmament and Lebanese army control south of the Litani River. These sessions mark the first direct diplomatic contacts since 1993, driven by ongoing border hostilities and US facilitation under Secretary Marco Rubio. Recent joint statements emphasize continued negotiations toward a comprehensive peace and security agreement without hostile intent. Upcoming rounds and implementation milestones for the ceasefire could sustain momentum, while any escalation involving Hezbollah or delays in Lebanese army deployment remain key variables affecting further engagement.
