Potapova advanced to Linz semifinals last week on indoor hard before shifting to clay prep, while 18-year-old Kostovic exited early in Oeiras against Suzan Lamens after mixed WTA 125 results. No head-to-head history exists, and both appear injury-free per recent reports, though Madrid's altitude could amplify Potapova's aggressive serve and groundstrokes against Kostovic's developing game.
