Wang's momentum stems from her W50 Baotou title last week and straight-sets advancement here, bolstered by home-crowd support in China. Hercog, a clay-court specialist with WTA titles and a 1-0 head-to-head edge from 2018 Miami qualifying, endured a three-set second-round win over Yufei Ren on April 30 and a recent medical timeout for hip/low-back issues versus Xinyu Gao. No further injury updates, but Wang's form drives the implied probabilities.
