The San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs are in the midst of a three-game series at Wrigley Field, where recent offensive fireworks and late drama have defined the matchup. The Giants erupted for a franchise-record seven home runs in an 18-3 rout on June 5 but saw their three-game winning streak end the next day in a 3-2, 10-inning loss capped by a Michael Busch walk-off single after Pete Crow-Armstrong’s two homers. Chicago improved to 34-31 while San Francisco sits at 26-39, with the Cubs holding a stronger overall record and home advantage at Wrigley. Probable starters and bullpen availability for the June 7-8 contests will shape the immediate outlook, alongside each club’s recent form and travel considerations in the National League West-Central interleague slate.
