St. Louis Cardinals enter the upcoming three-game series at Target Field with a stronger 33-28 record and third-place standing in the NL Central, while the Minnesota Twins sit at 30-35 and third in the AL Central. The Cardinals have posted a modest recent surge, including back-to-back wins, and benefit from a more reliable pitching staff with a lower team ERA around 4.16 compared to the Twins’ 4.55. Both clubs feature comparable offensive output near league averages in runs and batting average, though Minnesota’s home advantage at Target Field and recent win streak could narrow the gap. Key roster factors include the Cardinals’ returning players like Lars Nootbaar and the Twins’ reliance on core contributors such as Byron Buxton amid ongoing division competition.
