Both AL Central clubs enter this Target Field series mired in inconsistent play, with the Minnesota Twins at 29-34 and seven games out of first while the Kansas City Royals sit at 23-38, 11.5 games back. Minnesota has won just three of its last ten but holds a 17-15 home record, whereas Kansas City snapped a six-game skid with a recent win yet remains just 9-21 away from Kauffman Stadium. Injury issues compound the challenges: the Royals are without Cole Ragans, Kris Bubic, Jonathan India, and Maikel Garcia (hamstring, day-to-day), while the Twins are missing Ryan Jeffers and Bailey Ober. These roster gaps and the Twins’ home edge shape the immediate matchup dynamics.
