Trader consensus prices a razor-thin race for most goal contributions at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Federico Valverde, Riyad Mahrez, Akram Afif, and Lyle Foster tied atop at 47.5% implied probability, underscoring the parity among qualifier standouts from mid-tier nations. These players dominated confederation campaigns—Afif with key goals and assists in AFC play for Qatar, Mahrez captaining Algeria through CAF qualifiers with decisive strikes and setups, Foster netting crucial tallies for South Africa, and Valverde anchoring Uruguay's CONMEBOL push—positioning them as primary creators likely to rack up goals plus assists in group-stage fixtures against weaker foes in the expanded 48-team format. Big-name stars like Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland trail as their elite squads distribute scoring burdens, while no major injuries or withdrawals have shifted dynamics in recent friendlies, keeping the field wide open ahead of June kickoff.
