Trader consensus slightly favors France at 33.5% implied probability for producing the 2026 FIFA World Cup top goalscorer, buoyed by Kylian Mbappé's scorching club form with 28 goals by late April amid Real Madrid's title push, alongside his 2022 Golden Boot pedigree. Yet the race stays tightly bunched into the 28-29% range for Australia, Cape Verde, Croatia, and Panama due to their qualifiers' focal forwards—Dailon Livramento's strikes propelling Cape Verde's CAF triumph, Cecilio Waterman's haul in Panama's CONCACAF group win, and similar dominant runs against weaker foes by Croatia's Andrej Kramarić and Australia's emerging threats—priming them for volume scoring in the expanded 48-team format's lengthened group stages. Powerhouse squads like Brazil dilute individual tallies through deeper rotations, while uncertain group draws heighten upset potential across this wide-open field.

In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official leader as determined by FIFA rules. If multiple leaders are announced then this market will resolve to the nation represented by the player who scored fewer goals from penalty kicks. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve to the nationality of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled, postponed after August 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is no leader declared within that timeframe, the corresponding market will resolve to “Other”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
