In the Cagliari Challenger's second round on outdoor clay, No. 8 seed Marcos Giron (#76 ATP) meets Aleksandar Kovacevic (#97) in an all-American matchup. Giron powered through Aleksandar Vukic 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 on Tuesday, extending momentum from a recent challenger final, while showcasing solid clay grinding amid a 6-4 form in his last 10 matches. Kovacevic halted a four-match skid with a 6-3, 7-6(6) win over qualifier Luca Potenza Wednesday, but his linear baseline game struggles more on slower sea-level clay versus Giron's consistency. No head-to-head history exists; trader consensus reflects Giron's seeding edge and surface affinity in this competitive round-of-16 tilt, with both match-tough and no reported injuries.
