Donna Vekic holds a clear edge entering this grass-court qualifying opener against Carole Monnet at The HSBC Championships in London. The Croatian, ranked No. 72, owns a 1-0 head-to-head record after defeating Monnet 6-2, 6-4 on clay in Linz during April 2026 and brings a stronger 2026 win rate plus proven grass-court results, including a career 49-32 mark on the surface. Monnet, ranked near No. 196 and primarily active at Challenger level, has posted an 8-14 record this season with limited experience against higher-ranked opponents. The match is scheduled for Court 5 on June 6-7, with grass favoring Vekic’s serve and movement. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals affect either player.
