The 37-year-old Spanish veteran Barez (17-7) seeks to halt a two-fight UFC skid capped by a March 2025 submission loss to Andre Lima following a 14-month layoff, leveraging his 41% KO/TKO rate, 35% submission wins, and elite 80% takedown defense. Younger American Gurule (10-3, 0-3 UFC), fresh off a February unanimous decision defeat to Alden Coria in a three-fight Octagon slide (two decisions, one KO), pushes higher striking volume at 4.47 significant strikes per minute but struggles with grappling. No injuries reported; stylistic striker-vs-finisher clash and weigh-in results loom large for trader consensus.
