Garin's recent clay form includes a first-round upset of Matteo Arnaldi in Monte Carlo before falling to Alexander Zverev, plus advancing past the second round in Cagliari before a Round of 16 loss to Nuno Borges. Echargui, meanwhile, shows modest qualifier-level results like beating Chris Rodesch in Oeiras but lacks the consistent firepower to challenge Garin's baseline grinding and topspin-heavy game on the slower Roman clay, with no reported injuries altering the matchup dynamics.
