The New York Yankees, leading the AL East at 23-11 with a three-game win streak capped by 11-3 and 9-4 romps over Baltimore, enter their interleague series at Milwaukee's American Family Field as trader favorites despite injury hurdles like Ben Rice's minor hand contusion and Gerrit Cole's Tommy John recovery on the injured list. The Brewers (16-14, fourth in NL Central, 5-5 last 10) host starting May 8 behind ace Max Fried (4-1, 2.09 ERA) versus Kyle Harrison, but contend with Christian Yelich sidelined by a groin strain and Jacob Misiorowski's recent hamstring cramp. Home-field edge and Fried's form temper the Yankees' superior offense and road splits.
