Atlanta Braves division leaders at 23-10 atop the NL East enter their May 8-10 series at Dodger Stadium on a scorching 8-2 run over their last 10 games, including wins on April 29 and 28, fueling trader optimism despite a battered pitching rotation missing Spencer Strider (oblique, nearing return), Hurston Waldrep (elbow), and others on the injured list, plus catcher Sean Murphy (hip) and infielder Ha-Seong Kim (finger laceration, recent 10-day IL placement). NL West-leading Dodgers (20-12) counter with home-field edge and a deep bullpen, but limp in at 5-5 lately amid their own IL woes like Blake Snell (shoulder), Mookie Betts (back), and Edwin Díaz (elbow); probable opener pits Chris Sale against Emmet Sheehan, with Braves holding a 7-3 edge in recent head-to-heads.
