The New York Mets enter their series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field mired in a 11-21 slump, MLB's worst record, having lost 17 of their last 20 games before a recent single win, hampered by shortstop Francisco Lindor's left calf strain placing him on the 10-day IL since late April with a mid-May reevaluation looming. The Diamondbacks, at 16-15 and third in the NL West, hold a 2-1 edge in the season series after April wins and benefit from home-field advantage, though ace Zac Gallen recently exited a start with a right shoulder contusion but has thrown bullpens and appears cleared for mound work. Recent D-backs losses temper momentum, while Mets pitching rotation faces pressure without Kodai Senga on IL for lumbar issues; watch lineup confirmations and weather in Phoenix.
