Houston Astros (12-20, fourth in AL West) visit Boston Red Sox (12-19, fifth in AL East) at Fenway Park, where both sub-.500 clubs vie in a matchup shaped by pitching woes and roster gaps. Astros starter Mike Burrows (1-3, 6.25 ERA) faces a TBD Red Sox hurler amid Boston's rotation decimated by injuries to Sonny Gray (hamstring, out until May 9), Garrett Crochet (shoulder), Patrick Sandoval (elbow), and Kutter Crawford. Houston holds a 3-0 head-to-head edge from an early-season sweep, bolstered by Yordan Alvarez's scorching .356 average and 12 homers, though outfielders Jake Meyers, Taylor Trammell, and Zach Dezenzo remain sidelined. Astros enter on a W1 after an 11-5 rout of Baltimore; Red Sox on L2 post-Toronto losses, with home-field edge in 59-degree conditions.
