Lizette Cabrera, ranked No. 305, holds a clear edge over No. 733 Kisa Yoshioka in their ITF W75 Kurume first-round matchup on outdoor hard courts, bolstered by her stronger 2026 hard-court record of 19-9 versus Yoshioka's 14-6. Both advanced through qualifiers yesterday, with Cabrera edging Katy Dunne in three sets despite 13 double faults, and home favorite Yoshioka rallying past Rinko Matsuda 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 after dropping the opener. No prior head-to-head exists, but Cabrera's experience tempers Yoshioka's crowd support and recent momentum; no injuries reported, though fatigue from back-to-back qualifiers could factor in. Weather appears favorable for play on May 14.
