Francesca Jones enters this first-round WTA clay-court matchup in Rabat as the clear favorite, backed by a higher ranking near 105 and stronger recent results against tougher opposition. She reached the semifinals of an ITF event in Wiesbaden and the quarterfinals in Istanbul while posting a 6-5 clay record this season, with additional momentum from an earlier Auckland quarterfinal appearance. Yelyzaveta Kotliar, competing primarily at lower-tier events with a 24-12 record, faces her first career meeting against Jones and has shown less consistency on the main tour. The red-clay surface and Jones’s baseline reliability provide the primary edges, though Kotliar’s returning game could create pressure in longer rallies.
