Casper Ruud enters the Geneva Open first-round matchup against Jenson Brooksby as the clear market favorite due to his superior ranking, consistent recent results on clay, and strong historical success at the event. Ranked 17th, the Norwegian advanced deep in the recent Italian Open and brings a 1-0 clay-court head-to-head edge over Brooksby, whose current form includes a five-match losing streak since early March. Brooksby, now at No. 60 after recovering from prior injuries and a suspension, has shown flashes of competitiveness on slower surfaces but faces a tough stylistic test against Ruud’s baseline consistency and experience defending titles on the Geneva red clay. Recent player news shows no major injury concerns for either side, keeping the focus on form and surface familiarity as primary drivers of trader positioning.
