The Atlanta Braves enter the June 13 matchup at Citi Field with the best record in baseball at 45-24 and a firm hold on first place in the NL East, while the Mets sit at 31-38 in last place. Atlanta’s edge stems from consistent depth despite notable absences, including Ronald Acuña Jr. (hamstring) and Tyler Kinley (elbow). New York’s recent 7-5 win in the series opener featured Bo Bichette’s grand slam and six RBIs plus a Juan Soto homer, providing short-term momentum for the Mets. Both clubs face injury challenges in the infield and rotation, with Francisco Lindor and others sidelined for New York. The three-game set at home offers the Mets a chance to close the gap in the division standings against a rested Braves club coming off a three-game losing streak.
