Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter (see: https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/index.html) at the resolution time. If the counter becomes unavailable, another credible source will be used. Note: Only cases reported by the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter will qualify, regardless of reports from U.S. State agencies or other sources. As of April 23, 2026, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports 1,792 confirmed measles cases in the United States this year across 37 jurisdictions, with 22 outbreaks driving 93% of infections—primarily in under-vaccinated communities in states like South Carolina (668 cases), Utah (425), and Texas (180). Nearly 92% of cases occurred among unvaccinated individuals or those with unknown status, amid national MMR kindergarten vaccination coverage at 92.5%, below the 95% herd immunity threshold for this highly contagious virus (R0 of 12–18). Weekly cases have declined recently to seven, following a January peak, but officials warn of risks from summer travel; CDC surveillance updates continue weekly, with potential for imported cases to ignite new clusters before year-end resolution.
