This market will resolve to "Yes" if there have been the specified amount or more confirmed cases of Measles (Rubeola) in humans in the territory of the United States of America in 2026, according to the CDC case counter by April 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter 'Total Cases' in 2026 (see: https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/index.html) at the resolution time. If the counter becomes unavailable, another credible source will be used. Note: Only cases reported by the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter will qualify, regardless of reports from U.S. State agencies or other sources. As of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) most recent update on April 23, 2026, the United States has recorded 1,792 laboratory-confirmed measles cases in 2026, spanning 37 jurisdictions and linked to 22 new outbreaks plus ongoing ones from 2025—93% of cases are outbreak-associated. Hospitalizations affect 6% of patients (101 cases), with no deaths reported; 92% involve unvaccinated individuals or unknown status, highlighting vaccination gaps amid measles' high transmissibility (R0 of 12–18). New cases slowed recently, with only 7 rash onsets in the week of April 19–25 versus 35 prior, per CDC surveillance. The next Thursday update, due today, will capture cases with rash onset four or more days prior, potentially finalizing the April 30 tally amid busy travel season risks.
