Trader consensus heavily favors Michael Carrick at 72% implied probability to become Manchester United's next permanent manager, driven by his successful interim stint since January 2026 following Ruben Amorim's dismissal. Carrick has steered the Red Devils to the brink of Champions League qualification with impressive recent results, including victories like the 2-1 win over Brentford, earning praise for tactics, dressing room harmony, and deep club understanding as a former captain. Players reportedly back a full-time role, and reports from Fabrizio Romano and others indicate United leaning toward him amid a tightening Premier League top-four race. External candidates like Thomas Tuchel (9.2%) and Xavi (7.3%) linger as alternatives, but Carrick's momentum and continuity edge them out, with no major links advancing others in the past week.
