The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Soccer; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Early in the 2026 MLS season with roughly 9-10 matches played, trader consensus shows a razor-thin race for Defender of the Year, with Charlotte FC center-back Andrew Privett edging at 43.5% implied probability over NYCFC's Thiago Martins (41.9%) and Seattle Sounders' Yeimar Gómez Andrade (41.8%), reflecting no standout leader amid widespread defensive solidity. Privett has logged consistent minutes in Charlotte's stingy backline, Martins tops clearances (23) and blocks (3) for NYCFC's balanced start, and Yeimar aids Seattle's clean sheet push behind Hugo Lloris' league-leading shutouts. Recent matchdays highlight shared metrics in interceptions and tackles, with healthy rosters and strong team table positions keeping the field competitive—no injuries or slumps have separated the pack yet.
