The New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays meet in an AL East matchup where the Yankees hold a stronger position in the standings amid the Blue Jays’ slow start as defending AL champions. Toronto continues to navigate multiple injuries, including outfielder Daulton Varsho’s left wrist discomfort and pitcher Max Scherzer’s forearm and ankle issues, which have strained their rotation depth and contributed to inconsistent results. New York benefits from greater roster stability and offensive firepower, though both clubs face a demanding schedule with upcoming series that could shift divisional momentum. Recent form favors the Yankees’ ability to capitalize on home or road splits against a Blue Jays lineup still integrating returning players.
