The New York Mets enter this series with momentum after a 5-0 shutout victory on June 5, improving to 28-35 while riding a 6-4 mark over their last ten games behind strong outings from Christian Scott. The San Diego Padres, meanwhile, sit at 32-30 but arrive amid a six-game losing streak that has jeopardized their wild-card positioning in the NL West. Key factors include the Mets’ offensive contributions from Juan Soto and Bo Bichette alongside the Padres’ offensive struggles and notable injuries to Ramon Laureano and Luis Campusano. Pitching matchups for the June 6 contest feature Nolan McLean against Griffin Canning at Petco Park, where home-field dynamics and recent form could influence outcomes in this closely contested NL matchup.
