Barcelona's dominant 11-point lead atop the LaLiga table, extended by their April 25 victory over Getafe after Real Madrid's draw against Real Betis, has locked in the latter's runner-up status with five matches remaining. Real Madrid sit comfortably ahead of third-place Villarreal and fourth-place Atletico Madrid, whose inferior points tallies and goal differences make a surge to second highly improbable per trader consensus. This positions Real Madrid at a 99% implied probability for second place, driven by their consistent form despite title race struggles. Realistic challenges include a multi-game Real Madrid skid allowing Villarreal or Atletico to close the gap, or Real Madrid overtaking Barcelona via the May 10 El Clasico and a perfect run-in, though the latter favors Barcelona finishing second at just 3%.

In the event of a tie, this market will resolve to the team officially recognized by La Liga as finishing in second place. If multiple teams are officially awarded second place, the market will resolve to the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed club to finish 2nd in the 2025-2026 LaLiga season (e.g. they are mathematically unable to achieve enough points), the market will resolve to "No".
If the 2025-2026 LaLiga season is cancelled, postponed after May 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no 2nd place team declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The primary resolution source will be official information from the LaLiga. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
