The Chicago Cubs (34-34) enter the series finale at Coors Field on a two-game losing streak after dropping the opener 7-3 and falling 3-2 the following night, with their rotation thinned by Jameson Taillon's recent hamstring strain landing him on the injured list. The Rockies (26-42) snapped a four-game skid behind Hunter Goodman's early homers and strong offensive output in the thin air, though their own injury list remains lengthy with multiple outfielders and starters sidelined. Coors Field's altitude has historically inflated scoring in this matchup, while both clubs carry subpar recent road/home splits and bullpen vulnerabilities that could shape late-inning outcomes.
