Chicago Cubs lead the NL Central at 27-14, holding a 4.5-game edge over the surging Milwaukee Brewers (22-16), who climbed into MLB's top 5 power rankings amid a strong recent stretch. Cubs enter with momentum from an 8-2 mark in their last 10 games, fueled by robust run production (215 RS) and pitching depth, while Brewers manage without DH Christian Yelich (groin strain on 10-day IL since mid-April, nearing live BP) but gained Jackson Chourio's return to the lineup. Key factors include probable starters' form, bullpen usage after recent series, Wrigley Field winds, and divisional rivalry intensity, where head-to-head history often sees tight contests and upsets.
