Houston Astros enter their three-game series at Minnesota Twins' Target Field starting May 18 hampered by star infielder Carlos Correa's season-ending left ankle tendon surgery on Monday, compounding a dismal 16-26 record and league-worst 7-15 road mark. The Twins, sitting at 18-23 with a middling 10-10 home ledger in AL Central's basement, boast stronger pitching allowing 4.6 runs per game versus Houston's 5.8. Astros' ongoing injury woes—including shoulder strains to Hunter Brown and Josh Hader—have fueled a three-game skid against Seattle Mariners, while Minnesota hosts after facing Miami Marlins. Target Field's dimensions and cool May weather could favor Twins arms in this matchup of sub-.500 clubs chasing wild card hopes.
