With the three-game series tied 1-1 at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park, the Cincinnati Reds (19-11, first in NL Central) host the Colorado Rockies (14-17, fourth in NL West) in Thursday's rubber match, pitting struggling starters Michael Lorenzen (2-2, 5.97 ERA) against Andrew Abbott (0-2, 6.59 ERA) in a matchup favoring offense amid GABP's elevated home run factor. Rockies carry momentum from yesterday's 13-2 rout, sparked by catcher Brett Sullivan's three-RBI double, while Reds seek a split after their 7-2 opener behind Chase Burns. Key absences include Reds 3B Eugenio Suárez (oblique, 10-day IL) and SP Brandon Williamson (shoulder fatigue, day-to-day post-loss); Rockies recently activated LHP Kyle Freeland off IL but bullpens face fatigue from high-scoring games.
