Somerset enter this Vitality T20 Blast Central Group clash as defending champions with a strong early-season record, though overseas seamer Riley Meredith’s absence for the opening block due to Australia duty has thinned their pace attack. Gloucestershire host at the County Ground, Bristol, and will lean on the return of leading run-scorer D’Arcy Short while managing the unavailability of all-rounder Liam Scott for the first six matches following his national call-up. Both sides have undergone significant winter roster changes, with Gloucestershire losing several seam options and Somerset integrating new overseas talent such as Daniel Sams. Historical rivalry matches have produced tight contests, and home conditions at Bristol often favor aggressive middle-order hitting. Recent group fixtures indicate Somerset’s balanced lineup has handled early pressure effectively, while Gloucestershire seek momentum after mixed pre-season preparations.
