Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané enter the 2026 World Cup as primary attacking threats for Egypt and Senegal, both of whom have secured qualification. The even 50% implied probability reflects their comparable goal-scoring records, age profiles, and consistent international output despite differing club situations. Recent AFCON 2025 clashes highlighted their rivalry, with Mané netting the winner in Senegal’s semifinal victory. Salah’s minor hamstring issue late in the club season raises short-term availability questions, though recovery timelines point to full participation. Senegal’s attacking depth and Mané’s experience in knockout formats balance Egypt’s reliance on their talisman, leaving room for either to lead in goals depending on group stage minutes, defensive matchups, and finishing efficiency.
