Both teams enter their 2026 CFL matchup after opening the season with contrasting results. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats fell 30-27 in overtime to the Montreal Alouettes in Week 1, hampered by several early injuries including wide receiver Shemar Bridges (groin) and defensive lineman TyJuan Garbutt (knee) on the official report. Winnipeg, meanwhile, defeated the Calgary Stampeders and added receiver Tim White via free agency while integrating new coaching staff. Roster turnover, including offensive line adjustments and national player signings, shapes depth for both sides heading into a divisional contest with implications for early Eastern and Western standings positioning.
