Roberto Bautista Agut faces Marcos Giron in a first-round grass-court matchup at the Stuttgart Open, with the veteran Spaniard (ATP No. 117) set to retire at the end of the 2026 season after announcing his plans in April. The 38-year-old brings extensive experience on the surface and leads the head-to-head 3-0, including a straight-sets win last year on clay. Giron (ATP No. 84) enters with the higher ranking and recent competitive results on the tour, though his form has shown inconsistency. The quick grass conditions and Bautista Agut’s motivation in his final year represent key variables ahead of the June 8 contest.
