Andrey Rublev entered the first-round matchup at Roland Garros as the clear favorite against rising Peruvian Ignacio Buse, reflecting his higher ranking, prior Grand Slam quarterfinal appearances on clay, and consistent ATP-level experience. Buse arrived with strong recent momentum after capturing his first ATP 500 title on clay in Hamburg, which lifted him to a career-high ranking near No. 31 and highlighted his improved movement and baseline consistency on the surface. The clay-court conditions at the French Open favored Rublev’s heavy topspin and endurance, while Buse’s quick turnaround from the Hamburg final introduced potential fatigue concerns. Traders priced the outcome according to these established form and matchup dynamics heading into the encounter.
