The Chicago Cubs enter this series at Wrigley Field with a 33-30 record, holding a clear edge in overall standing and home performance compared to the 25-38 San Francisco Giants, who sit near the bottom of the NL West. Recent form highlights the Cubs’ midseason slump after a strong 26-12 start, including a winless homestand, while the Giants have shown limited momentum despite Jung Hoo Lee’s extended hitting streak. Pitching matchups feature Robbie Ray on the mound for San Francisco against Edward Cabrera for Chicago, with both clubs dealing with injury absences that affect bullpen depth and lineup flexibility. Home/away splits and schedule positioning favor the Cubs in this interleague contest, though the Giants’ road struggles and potential for individual hot streaks keep outcomes competitive.
